Day 1
Welcome to Delhi
Arrive in the Indian capital and settle into a garden hotel on the edge of the Delhi Golf Club. The evening is yours to recover from the journey at an easy pace.
Day 2
Delhi to Agra
Begin at Humayun’s Tomb, the Mughal garden-tomb whose proportions the Taj Mahal would later borrow, then travel south along the Yamuna Expressway to Agra. Arrive in time to see the Taj from your own windows as the afternoon light softens.
Day 3
Taj Mahal, Then Into the Wild
Meet the Taj Mahal at sunrise with a historian who brings the Mughal court to life for every age, then turn towards the jungle. By evening you are in Ranthambore, greeted by a naturalist and the resident elephant.
Day 4
First Tiger Safari
Head into the reserve at first light in a private open jeep, tracking tigers through dry forest and past the ruins of a thousand-year-old fort. The children earn their Junior Ranger stripes in the afternoon, before the stars come out over the observation tower.
Day 5
Second Safari or River Boat
Return to the reserve for a second attempt at the tiger, or trade the jeep for a boat on the Chambal River, where gharial crocodiles bask on the sandbanks. The day closes around a garden barbecue with live sarangi music.
Day 6
Ranthambore to Jaipur
Travel on to Jaipur and a villa with its own pool inside a walled garden estate. The afternoon is unhurried, with an interactive demonstration of Rajasthani craft to ease into the city.
Day 7
Amber Fort & the Astronomical Instruments
Climb to Amber Fort above Maota Lake, then descend into the walled Pink City for the royal apartments of the City Palace and the vast stone instruments of Jantar Mantar, where Jai Singh II measured the heavens three centuries ago. A block-printing workshop closes the day with ink on your hands.
Day 8
Sunrise Balloon
Lift off before dawn over the forts and stepwells of the Amer countryside, drifting above a landscape few visitors see from the air. The afternoon offers a choice between a Halal cooking masterclass and an ethical elephant walk in the forest.
Day 9
Leisure in Jaipur
A day at your own speed — the villa pool, the spa, or the bazaars of the old city with a personal shopper who knows which workshops are worth the detour. A family dinner marks the last night.
Day 10
Departure
A final breakfast in the garden before a private transfer to Jaipur International Airport for your onward flight.
