YOUR JOURNEY THROUGH INDIA
6 Days of Tea, Rails & the Kanchenjunga
Discover the Himalayan counterpoint to the plains of India — misty tea gardens, colonial heritage, and dawn over Kanchenjunga. Tailored for travellers wanting refined, unhurried immersion in tea culture and mountain silence.

Day 1
Arrival in Darjeeling
Climb from the plains at Bagdogra through three hours of tea gardens and cloud into the old hill station of Darjeeling. Afternoon tea is served in the manner the British left behind, and the evening belongs to Observatory Hill.

Day 2
Sunrise & the Toy Train
Leave in the dark for Tiger Hill, where the first light strikes Kanchenjunga before it reaches anything else. Later, a privately chartered run on the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway carries you through the Batasia Loop, and the afternoon unfolds among the tea bushes of Happy Valley and the colonial streets of the Mall.

Day 3
Into the Tea Gardens
Descend from the town to a working tea estate above the Rungeet river, where garden and forest run down the valley to the water. Welcome tea is poured on the bungalow veranda with the mountains straight ahead.

Day 4
Tea, Tasting & the River
Pluck alongside the estate’s workers in the morning, then follow the leaf through the factory to the cup with the resident tea maker. In the afternoon, walk down to the river for a picnic laid out on the bank.

Day 5
Full Leisure
Nothing is scheduled. Walk down through the tea sections to the river, sit a second cupping with the tea maker now that your palate knows what to look for, or take a treatment on your own veranda. Kanchenjunga changes colour four or five times between breakfast and dusk; the day’s only real task is to be somewhere you can watch it.

Day 6
Departure from the Hills
A last breakfast on the veranda with the mountains in front of you, and time to choose leaves from the estate’s tea room to carry home. Your chauffeur provides a smooth executive transfer through Kurseong’s tea country to Bagdogra Airport
