Trek to the Mountain Gorillas of the Volcanoes

In the misted heights of Volcanoes National Park, a private primatologist leads you to one of the planet’s most moving wildlife encounters: a family of mountain gorillas, met in the pristine dry-season forest.

The trek is earned—hours through bamboo and nettle, altitude in the lungs—until the trackers signal and the forest simply opens. A silverback a few metres away, infants tumbling, the whole troop entirely indifferent to your presence. An hour is all anyone is allowed.

A rainforest lodge is reserved to your party, a farm-to-table table composed around your preferences and a butler throughout. It is a transformative African journey, held in privacy and conducted on the gorillas’ terms rather than your own.
