YOUR JOURNEY THROUGH PORTUGAL

10 Days of Fairytale Palaces, Secret Coves & Golden Coastline

Discover Portugal through its most captivating contrasts — from Lisbon’s historic streets and royal palaces to the Algarve’s dramatic cliffs, turquoise coves, and sun-drenched coastline. Explore iconic landmarks, enchanting castles, and coastal wonders before settling into a luxury resort where every day offers the freedom to relax, play, and reconnect. Tailored for families who value shared experiences, effortless comfort, and unforgettable adventures together.

Day 1

Arrival in Lisbon

The family arrives in Lisbon, a capital that wears its history lightly and takes to children easily — a place of rattling yellow trams, river boats, custard tarts and hilltop castles. Cleared swiftly from the airport, you settle into spacious family suites in the heart of the Chiado, the city’s most walkable quarter, and ease into the first evening with a tram ride up through the old streets and the warm, sugared crunch of a pastel de nata to mark the start of the adventure.
Activities
Private arrival transfer, vintage tram ride, pastel de nata tasting
Meals
Lunch & Dinner at leisure.
Accommodation
Overnight at Martinhal Lisbon Chiado Family Suites.
Day 2

Lisbon for the Family

A full day built around the things that make Lisbon a joy at any age. You begin at the Oceanário, one of the largest aquariums in Europe, where sharks and sunfish drift through a central ocean tank the children can circle for hours. Then to Belém for the great riverside monuments — the tower, the Discoveries monument — and the original custard tarts, before an afternoon boat onto the Tagus, the city rising white and terracotta behind you as the river opens out toward the sea.
Activities
Belém quarter historical walk (Jerónimos Monastery, Belém Tower), pastel de nata tasting, and Tagus River private boat charter.
Meals
Breakfast at the hotel. Lunch at leisure. Dinner at the hotel.
Accommodation
Overnight at Martinhal Lisbon Chiado Family Suites.
Day 3

Sintra

A day given entirely to Sintra, and to the kind of fairytale that turns out to be real. Pena Palace crowns its wooded hilltop in reds and yellows, its ramparts made for small explorers; below, Quinta da Regaleira hides an initiation well that spirals down into the earth, linked by tunnels that surface among ferns and grottoes — an afternoon of secret passages that no child forgets. The Atlantic mist that drifts through the hills only adds to the spell.
Activities
Sintra full day (Pena Palace, Quinta da Regaleira, Moorish castle walls)
Meals
Breakfast at the apartment. Lunch at leisure. Dinner at leisure.
Accommodation
Overnight at Martinhal Lisbon Chiado Family Suites.
Day 4

Into the Algarve

The road runs south to the Algarve, where Portugal meets the sea in a coastline of gold cliffs and hidden coves. You settle into a clifftop resort built for families, the pools and the beach below waiting, and the afternoon is simply about arriving — toes in the sand, the Atlantic warm here, the holiday shifting into its second, slower half.
Activities
Private transfer south, resort pools and cliff beach
Meals
Breakfast at the apartment. Lunch en route. Dinner at the resort.
Accommodation
Overnight at Pine Cliffs Resort, Algarve.
Day 5

Benagil Sea Caves

The Algarve’s most famous wonder is best reached from the water, and today you have it early, before the day boats arrive. By private boat or guided kayak you slip into the Benagil sea cave, a great domed chamber with a circle of open sky at its top and a crescent of sand at its floor, then trace a coast of arches and grottoes carved by the Atlantic, dolphins often riding the bow between the cliffs.
Activities
Private Benagil sea cave exploration by boat or private kayak, and dolphin spotting.
Meals
Breakfast at the resort. Lunch at the resort. Dinner at the resort.
Accommodation
Overnight at Pine Cliffs Resort, Algarve.
Day 6

Water & Craft

A day of doing. Older children take to surfboards or paddleboards with an instructor in the shallows, younger ones to the kids’ club, and the whole family comes together for a hands-on Portuguese cooking session — a cataplana of clams and coriander, or the custard tarts they have been eating all week, now made with their own hands. The pace is easy, the day shaped around what everyone actually feels like doing.
Activities
Surf or paddleboard lessons, kids’ club, family cataplana cooking session
Meals
Breakfast at the resort. Lunch at the resort. Dinner at the resort.
Accommodation
Overnight at Pine Cliffs Resort, Algarve.
Day 7

Ria Formosa

A private boat carries you into the Ria Formosa, a vast lagoon of channels, islands and sandbanks that shelters behind the Algarve coast — a birdwatcher’s paradise of flamingos and herons, and a swimmer’s one of warm, still water. You land on a near-deserted barrier island for a swim off a sandbar with nothing but the sea and the sky, the mainland a low line in the distance.
Activities
Private Ria Formosa lagoon by boat, barrier-island swim, birdwatching
Meals
Breakfast at the resort. Lunch at the resort. Dinner at the resort.
Accommodation
Overnight at Pine Cliffs Resort, Algarve.
Day 8

Silves or Beach

A day that flexes to the family’s mood. For the curious, an inland excursion to Silves, once the Moorish capital of the Algarve, where a red sandstone castle crowns the old town and the history of Al-Andalus is written into the walls — paired with a gentle family bike ride. For the content, a free day on the beach and at the pools, doing gloriously little.
Activities
Silves and its Moorish castle with a family bike ride (optional), or a free beach day
Meals
Breakfast at the resort. Lunch at the resort. Dinner at the resort.
Accommodation
Overnight at Pine Cliffs Resort, Algarve.
Day 9

Leisure

The last full day belongs to the sea. Sandcastles and swimming, a final paddle or surf, the children brown and salt-haired and reluctant to leave — and, as the sun goes down, a farewell seafood dinner served on the sand, the Atlantic turning pink and then dark beyond the table.
Activities
Leisure
Meals
Breakfast at the resort. Lunch at leisure. Farewell seafood dinner on the beach.
Accommodation
Overnight at Pine Cliffs Resort, Algarve.
Day 10

Departure

A last morning by the sea before the your master chauffeur provides an executive transfer to Faro Airport and your onward flight, the Algarve’s cliffs falling away below the wing.
Activities
Private transfer to Faro airport
Meals
Breakfast at the resort.
