8 Days in the Silence of the Thar
Discover western Rajasthan at a walking pace — a fort explored before the gates open, an abandoned village heard through a storyteller’s voice, a dinner alone beneath the desert stars. Tailored for travellers seeking authenticity, craft, and privileged access, with no crowds and no fixed schedule.
Day 1
Arrival in the Blue City
Arrive in Jodhpur, the Blue City, where the great Mehrangarh Fort rises above a maze of indigo-painted streets. Cleared swiftly on a private flight from Delhi, you settle into a converted haveli in the old town and take the first evening gently, the fort floodlit above the rooftops as the blue lanes soften into dusk.
Day 2
Mehrangarh Before the World Wakes
Enter Mehrangarh before the gates open to anyone else, walking the ramparts with a historian while the blue city stirs far below. Afterwards, the indigo lanes of the old town and the studio of a master miniature painter or block-printer.
Day 3
Into Rural Marwar
Head out into rural Marwar and the Bishnoi villages, a community that has protected its trees and its blackbuck for five centuries. Potters and weavers work as they always have, with no performance laid on for visitors.
Day 4
Into the Desert
Cross the Thar by road, the landscape thinning to scrub and sand over five slow hours, accompanied by your chauffeur, with a curated stop for lunchalong the way. Arrival at Suryagarh is announced by nagada drums and Manganiyar musicians at the gate.
Day 5
The Thar Trail
Have breakfast at dawn inside the ruined walls of Khaba Fort with peacocks for company, then follow the Thar Trail to Kuldhara — the village abandoned overnight in 1825 and never resettled — and on to the royal cenotaphs of Bada Bagh. Dinner is laid for you alone under the desert stars.
Day 6
Silence
Walk into dunes that carry no footprints and no circuits, where the quiet is the entire point of the morning. The afternoon turns to the living fort of Jaisalmer and the carved sandstone of Patwon Ki Haveli, built on the wealth of the Silk Road.
Day 7
At Leisure
A day held open — the courtyards and spa of the fort-hotel, or a camel on a quiet dune as the sun goes down. A farewell dinner closes the desert chapter.

Departure
A last desert morning before your chauffeur provides an executive transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
